Melissa Dunn’s complex language of abstraction and ways of thinking and seeing has developed over a prolific and dedicated studio practice. The ease in which Melissa translates from sketchbook to painting and drawing is a peek into her dedication to finding, translating and honing a visual language based on the complexities of the everyday. Melissa’s drawings and paintings are based in abstraction, telling the stories shapes and color carry, either over a lifetime or through a passing thought. Her work is a landing pad where stream of consciousness and intention meet.
