I am currently reading a few things: CD Wright’s poetry (Cooling Time), City of Girls (Elizabeth Gilbert) and Ninth Street Women, plus Daily NY Times (yikes). I listen to podcasts (generally art related or On Being) in the studio, or Nashville’s public radio station. I prefer words these days to music in the studio. My art soulmates right now are Richard Tuttle, Joanne Greenbaum, Agnes Martin, the women of Gee’s Bend, CD Wright, Rebecca Solnit. I conjured up a kale quinoa something one day this week (or was it last month?, we are limiting grocery runs so I was proud.

What are you reading?
India Knight on thrift. Round about a Pound a week – a social reformers view of urban poor in London at the turn of the 20th century
– What do you usually listen to when you are working in the studio?
Nothing. Maybe talk radio. If I’m working headphones and something trance like on repeat. What that would be now, not sure….
– Who is your artistic soulmate? (who inspires you time-and-time-again, who are you
always excited by — could be a painter, dancer, writer, actor, etc.?)
I just watched Robert de Niro tonight – he inspires. Currently Jasper Johns springs to mind.
– What’s the best meal you cooked this week?
I’ve been redecorating so omelette and salad was the only possible solution.

Late to the party:
– What are you reading? I’ve just finished The Apology by Eve Ensler, heavy but absolutely thought provoking and an important read
– What do you usually listen to when you are working in the studio? Anything I can sing along to (usually pop) and occasionally dance to
– Who is your artistic soulmate? (who inspires you time-and-time-again, who are you always excited by — could be a painter, dancer, writer, actor, etc.?) It’s my best friend artist Caitlin Griffiths – defo my art ride or die
– What’s the best meal you cooked this week? I don’t cook, but I did just had a veg box delivered so had the most amazing salad sandwich on sour dough, an assembler rather than chef.
– Please provide an image of yourself – done and doing what I like doing the most – looking at art!
– Please share an image of your workspace – as a freelancer I work in many places, however, at the moment I like following the sun round the flat, the yellow table in the morning and larger desk in the afternoon.
